Hepatitis B Testing and Vaccination Programs in Correctional Facilities

Incarcerated persons often have a disproportionate burden of infectious diseases, including hepatitis B infection. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommends universal hepatitis B vaccination of adults in high-risk settings including correctional facilities. In this webinar, panelists share efforts to increase hepatitis B testing and vaccination in state jails and prisons in Maine, Oregon, and Tennessee.

National and State Initiatives to Prevent Hepatitis B and Liver Cancer

October is Liver Cancer Awareness Month! Did you know that in the U.S., the rates of liver cancer incidence and deaths are increasing while most other cancer rates have declined or stabilized? A Global Scientific Strategy to Cure Hepatitis B

HBV is a global public health challenge on the same scale as tuberculosis, HIV, and malaria. More than 257 million people worldwide are chronically infected with HBV and nearly 900,000 people died from the disease in 2017. During this session, panelists discuss International Coalition to Eliminate HBV (ICE-HBV) and how a global scientific strategy lays the groundwork for the momentum behind hepatitis B cure research and the long-term implementation of HBV cure preparedness worldwide.

Hidden Consequences: the Opioid Epidemic and Rising Hepatitis B Rates

Hep B United and the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) are excited to present a 3-part webinar series on local strategies to eliminate hepatitis B. Exploring National and Local Approaches to Perinatal Hepatitis B Prevention

Hep B United and the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) are excited to present a 3-part webinar series on local strategies to eliminate hepatitis B. To coincide with National Infant Immunization Week (April 27 – May 4) and Hepatitis Awareness Month (May), this session focuses on perinatal HBV transmission.
